“Every morning in the African Savanna, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must out run the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must out run the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.” -????

...an example of static line jump, from 25OO feet!
"It’s supposed to be hard. If It wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that makes it great."
-Jimmy Dugan from A League of Their Own
First, I like to thank toKathleen for sharing today's quote of the day!
A point to note about this quote is that, nothing worthwhile was easily achieved; regardless of what it is or where it is!
Think about the commodity, Gold, for a second; what do you think will happen if more than adequate amount of gold were allowed to flood into the market? It becomes very very cheap of course, everyone has easily access to it and it will no longer be valued...{could you imagine buying gold at Dollarama!!!?"}
Now apply the above concept to the quote of the day. Your sitting there whining and complaining how bad you have it or how big an obstacle you are facing, if it were easy to do everyone would be doing it, with ease...the reality is that the harder something is to accomplish the greater the immediate short term and long term result.
For one you will feel a great deal of self confidence and happiness for having tackled and triumphed over such a goal...that slowly you begin to tackle larger and more frightening goals...before you realize it the view from the mountain top is much bigger and fulfilling.
On the other hand when you choose to do something easy that everyone easily conquer, you really do not have any feel of triumph or great feelings about yourself...hence, the chances of pursuing other goals is slimmed to none, you begin to say things like, "why bother with it when i know for sure i could do it." The sad thing is a lot of people are stuck here by choice. This is only because they are yet to make a conscious realization that they are able to tackle bigger and more frightening goals.
I can relate to all the above situations...take the example of my cadet career as an example. A lot of cadets resented the idea of jumping out of a perfectly functionally airplane, parachuting, because that feared the worst. As a result they only pursued courses such as international exchanges or role as staff cadet at army cadet summer camp as an escaped. The outcome; the major of all cadets who take this path have an "ok"/ an "alright summer" because it was not challenging enough.
On the other hand, a few army cadets including myself choose to take the path of the greatest resistance. Five straight weeks of early morning and evening heart wrenching physical training {push-ups, chip-ups, long distance running}, constant mental push to the limit...the conquering of ones fear of heights and much more. At the end, out of about 5O army cadets and officers, only about 34 remained who went on to successfully jump out of the sky relying only on a 33 feet parachute to slow there drop...personally the joy of having the badge upon my chest is the greatest of all feelings matched only by a few things in my life. {If you are curious what the para course is all about, watch "Band of Brothers" part one to see what i mean}
Well that is my take on this quote...what is yours? All i ask you for you to observe yourself and the way you act and you doing something worthwhile or are you doing what everybody else is doing, therefore having the same results?
*****Remember if it scares you, do it anyway...but don't forget to use common sense!*****

"Success comes from taking the hand your were dealt and using it to the very best of your ability."
-Ty Boyd
Another way to put this quote it "if life gives you lemon, make lemonade, period!" I think what we do instead or at least the majority of the time, is squeeze the lemon into our eyes and then feel sorry for ourselves because we "just don't got it!", as we would often say to ourselves.
If you take a few moment to observe the world around you...you will find as i have found, that the world would not have evolved into what it is today, if we chose not to make the very best of what we got. I am talking about all the great human achievements from great musicians such as Steve Wonder[Blind from birth], authors such as Helen Keller [deafblind], to great scientist such as Stephen William Hawking, to name a few.--I recommend that you look these people up.
Just from the few names listed above alone, could you imagine how much we would have missed out if they did not do what they did?
Now its time to bring things into perspective...lets look at the above and your lives, are you preparing lemonade with the lemon you got or do you keep squeezing the lemons into your eyes?
Lemon in the eye is the worst feeling ever! Make lemonade instead...make sure to let me know so that i may come to your stand and get a cup! :}
What do you say....?

"I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may find myself. For I have learned that the greater part of our misery or unhappiness is determined not by our circumstance but by our disposition."
Martha Washington 1732-1802, First American First Lady
The above quote has the word "attitude" written all over it. If you are still unclear, lets begin with the definition of the word; it is a person's perspective toward a specified event or occurrence.
When you think about it, everything that happens in your life, in my life is meaningless; it only become meaningful when you attached to it a meaning! Look back at one event that occurred recently; what meaning did you attach to it? is it a positive and constructive meaning or a negative one?
My point is this; you have to become open to the fact that life's event do not have any predisposed meaning except that which you give it...if this is so [it is] it is then possible for one to say that life is whatever one want it to be thus one can choose to be miserable or happy in a given situation.
I know you are burning to question the above and give reasons as to how it is not so...but before you do that, i only request that you wait till you have a situation, regardless of size...see how you reaction subconsciously and then applying the above see how you reaction consciously.

K-Money President and CEO of Stash House Entertainment
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought!"
-Buddha
All that we are really is the result of what we have thought! I think this is something that most people take for granted...especially me, until now!
It is quite amazing how many people say things like..."I suck at this or that" or "I am a loser i am no good at that" and so on...of course most of what people say, is often only said within the privacy of their own mind! Since your thoughts = feelings, your Feelings = Action, your Actions = Results and then your Results = your Life...you are automatically going to live out your thoughts!
If this is so, [it is!], then is it not smart to let your dominant thought be that which you want to occur rather than carelessly letting thoughts go through your mind?
Now, talk is cheap! Trying to control your thoughts is no easy task, it takes much effort and persistence.
Here's a quick example of thoughts becoming one reality; K-Money, see above picture, always thought about creating wealth, hence "K-Money"...so much that he has established a successful entertainment company, Stash House Entertainment, that helps guests have a great time in return allowing him the opportunity to get one step closer to a dream that seem at one point impossible to reach!
here's another illustration. Now i am sure you are familiar with the great Mohammad Ali...right? Correct me if i am wrong...i believe the greatest source of his amazing success and fame, was his train of thought! They are soooo empowering to him that his level of confidence was matched by none.
He always spoke and acted like a champion and in the end what did his Boxing record look like?...like a Champs of course!
Boxing Record:
Total fights
61
Wins
56
Wins by KO
37
Losses
5
Draws
0

"Success is the sum of small efforts - repeated day in and day out."
-Robert Collier
This quote breaks down the usual formula to success that each and every successful person ever followed.
Quite often many people set out to achieve success at a certain doing but end up giving up...because they are in a hurry to make things happen. without much experience they take on more activities they can ever handle at a time, fail and then say "oh it wasn't meant to be" or "i am terrible at doing this!"
I think you and i and very guilty of this at one point in our life...for example I once decided that i would become very very good at investing. I started first reading 4 books on investment everyday, waking up at 5:3O am and read 2O pages each book! Guest what within the first week i slowly fell off the routine...one, because i found it a bit stressful; two, i lost the motivation hence fun became work! three, it was just too much of a change for me...the change was not gradual!
My solution? Instead i began to read only one book at a time! I began doing this only during my peak productivity hours-time when you are the most alert- and slowly i have increased my investment knowledge, specifically long-term investing to about 2O% than when i first start -now my calculation my be wrong but it is an estimate, LoL.
My suggestion...take it slow, only bite only that which you able able to chew for the food will go down much easier and you my friend...will be much happier!
....because you wont want to quit after a few days.
