A great man once said, "if you do the things you fear, the death of fear is certain." When i first read the above quote (main quote), i did not understand it at first, but then it made sense. To me, it means that not doing the thing(s) one fears, makes the fear have control over the persons live. Think about, have you ever been in a situation where you are confronted with your fear? What was your first reaction? To escape!...well, I only know this from experience. Here is an example of this experience to illustrate. When i first started as an army cadet, i had stage fright, which came from standing in front of my whole platoon (a team of about 20-35 cadets). The fear was soo bad that I did whatever i could to avoid being confronted with it (choosing safety over confrontation). Realizing that this strategy was not constructive in anyway and that i was missing out on many opportunities to advance as an army cadet, I began to fight it. Though it was very hard i have admit, however, taking every opportunity to encounter and face the fear, i was able to be in control of it. As a result, I was able to advance through the leadership position faster than most of the cadets who began their cadet career before I did, to obtain a leader position as the leader of the cadet corp. These may be all "sweet and dandy" but the simple fact is that, if you do not get your fear under control, whatever it is, that fear will run your life. Take note that I said "have the fear under control." Please correct me if i am wrong (i am human afterall) but i don't think it is possible to completely eliminate fear, it is a natural human emotion and having your fear under control will ensure that whenever you come face to face with it, you become unstoppable.

Remember, "do the things you fear and the death of fear is certain." So guys if you have feared asking that girl out because you feared rejection, take it from me, whether or not she says yes, you will be glad you tried because you faced your fear and the next time it wont be soo hard. And ladies, the same goes for you......!

P.S. I think the quote, "do the things you fear and the death of fear is certain", should be "do the things you fear and the death of fear's power is certain."
